Easy Energy Efficiency Decisions and Data with Andrew Pickard, Powerhaus Engineering
Creating energy efficient homes can sometimes feel like guesswork, a lot of additional expense for the client, and a lot of additional work for you as the builder.
However, there are ways you can access data to explore, test and measure what will optimise the energy efficiency of your projects (before you build them), and help value manage your projects so clients get the best outcome for their budget.
The Powerhaus app has been developed to make energy efficiency decisions simpler during design, and to demonstrate the effectiveness of various decisions in the building envelope, energy systems, air tightness and other levers, based on the climate you’re building in.
Andy Pickard from Powerhaus Engineering will walk us through the app, and help you understand more about how to help your clients and team achieve optimised energy efficient project outcomes, and understand their true benefits.
Learning Objectives: from this session, you will learn about:
- The levers you can explore to improve the energy efficiency of your projects
- How to optimise the energy efficiency and performance of your projects before you build them
- How to keep clients and designers informed about energy efficient decisions and data, and their benefits
