Breaking the Cycle with Kurt Everard, TIACS

As identified in previous TIACS sessions, nothing (or not much) happens in isolation.

This means that we can get caught in a cycle that is maintained by several factors during times of struggle.

Even with deep self-awareness, the busyness of life can stop us from realising how we are maintaining a negative cycle within our lives. Work might be tough so we take it home and it impacts our home life, then we can’t get to sleep which leaves us fatigued for the following day at work and the cycle continues.

This is a basic example but serves to highlight a common experience.

“Breaking the Cycle” focuses on some more structured reflection in hopes of not only identifying a cycle but highlighting ways that it can be interrupted.

Prior to watching the training, please think of any examples of cycles that you’ve seen or experienced.

Learning Objectives: from this session, you will learn about:

  1. Improved structured reflection
  2. Examples of ‘cycle(s)’ we can find ourselves in
  3. How to break the cycle
