Cultivating Emotional Intelligence with Kurt Everard, TIACS
Emotional intelligence (EI) is an important skill which relates to an ability to manage and understand our emotions while also identifying and understanding the emotions of those around us.
Generally speaking, high emotional intelligence intersects with, and fosters strong interpersonal skills (among other things) which undeniably come in handy across several different settings including work and at home.
Given this reality, our next session will focus on the ins and outs of EI. Without looking into this concept, please consider your own preconceived notions of what EI is to you and be prepared to discuss this within the session.
Learning Objectives: from this session, you will learn about:
1. Awareness of why it’s important and the drawbacks of neglecting this area of intelligence
2. The skills that comprise the various branches of EI
3. Strategies that boost EI
