The Nature of Thought – Logical Fallacies, Patterns of Thought and Critical Thinking with Kurt Everard, TIACS

We have the world’s knowledge and insights at our fingertips, but it can be hard to decipher the ins and outs of this, with how it is presented within the news cycle, social media and other outlets.

This reality is compounded by the fact that we are all guilty of approaching certain situations with inconsistent or irrational patterns of thought that can be fuelled by logical fallacies and cognitive distortions.

This call aims to provide you with a deeper awareness of the ways in which you may be approaching situations (e.g. work or family) with a narrow lens. This awareness will be complemented with some approaches, strategies and tools to cultivate critical thinking.

Learning Objectives: from this session, you will learn about:

1. Developing a deeper awareness of logical fallacies

2. The cultivation of critical thinking.
